Our story
Korean malatang, named for good fortune
Pixiu Mala Hongtang is a Korean brand that specializes in malatang, a popular soup dish. The brand draws inspiration from Pixiu, the god of wealth, who represents good fortune and prosperity.
Our aim is simple: a delicious meal that also brings a little luck. Guests build their own malatang or mala xiang guo from a self-serve bar of more than 50 fresh ingredients, including vegetables, mushrooms, noodles, ham, fish balls, tofu and beef, then choose a spice level from mild to spicy.
Our meat-free sauce makes a satisfying vegetarian bowl easy, without giving up flavor or nutrition. The result is a personal, relaxed way to enjoy malatang, rooted in tradition with a touch of good fortune.
The Pixiu difference
Three secrets in every bowl
Every sauce is developed in-house and produced in bulk at our own sauce factory, so the flavor is consistent in every bowl.
Secret broth
A clean, light soup base perfected through years of research, so every ingredient tastes like itself.
Mala chili oil
Fermented broad bean and soybean paste, Sichuan pepper, star anise, cloves, fennel and cinnamon, finished with Korean red pepper.
Hwasungjang
Roasted peanuts and peanut oil aged for 24 hours, then simmered with egg whites and rice wine and finished with sesame.
